Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Steps at Tremayne Quay Tremayne Quay was built in 1846 specifically to receive the Royal Yacht carrying Queen Victoria and Prince Albert on a visit to Trelowarren House. Clearly no expense was spared to impress their Highnesses as the stonework is of very high quality as can be seen here. The project also involved the building of a 1.3 mile long carriage drive from the nearest road. In the event, bad weather caused the visit to be cancelled. However, her great grandson, Edward, Duke of Windsor, favoured the quay with a belated royal visit in 1921.
