| Description |
English: Still covered in ice The pond still had ice on it even though the weather had been above freezing for a couple of days. Originally the pond had 4 high sides and was square. It was dug to enable the farmer to be able to use it for irrigating the crops behind and when we first discovered it you could swim in it quite easy as it was very deep. Time weather and the constant flooding have eroded most of the sides. Now it just seems to be used for local anglers to catch fish which have been trapped during the floods though when I was younger we thought there were fish there then. |
