Summary[edit]

Description
English: Stony Binks, Spurn Point, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
On a day of an exceptionally low tide, it was possible to walk onto the island known as "Stony Binks". Without consulting a maritime map, it was obvious from breaking waves that the sand bank extends a considerable distance (possibly more than 1 km) north east from the tip Spurn Point. The unevenness of the sand indicates a roughness in the water flows as the tide covers the sand. It is thought that the Spurn peninsula migrates westward, http://www.yorkshirehistory.com/RAVENSER/index.htm has historical notes, aerial photograph and maritime map.
