| Description |
English: Stratford upon Avon Canal, Preston Bagot The southern part Stratford Canal is one of the Midland's most attractive and peaceful waterways. Today it is immaculately maintained, and it is hard to believe that the canal lay derelict for many years and was only saved through the dedication of a group of volunteers. It is thought that the last working boat used the canal in the 1920s after which it was just left to rot; restoration work began in the 1950s and was completed in 1964. |
