Summary
[edit]DescriptionStromeferry station in 1987 - geograph.org.uk - 879767.jpg |
English: Stromeferry station in 1987 For 10 years Stromeferry was the terminus of the Kyle line, until the last difficult bit around the coast was built. At one time it boasted an overall roof over the track. It still looked reasonably presentable in the 1960's, with the sidings being quite busy in storing excess goods stock because Kyle of Lochalsh was so cramped; that traffic disappeared when BR ceased general goods handling in the early 1970's. |
