Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Struggling for air-space Two trees either side of a field boundary compete for light. To the left, a low, spreading Field Maple is leaning towards the other, an Oak, and crowding it out. The Oak is initially yielding like a reed, for a change, but as it starts to overtop the maple it is beginning to bend back. One day, perhaps, the oak will be dominant and the maple will be mere undergrowth. |
