Shropshire Bulla - Sun Pendant, exhibited at the World of Stonehenge exhibition, British Museum

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Shropshire Bulla - "The World of Stonehenge", British Museum.

This sun pendant, known as the "Shropshire Bulla" was discovered in Shropshire in 2018. Similar artefacts were found in Ireland perhaps as a type of ornamentation that could have been worn like a pendant.

The British museum muses that: "This pendant was cast into the sky before it sank into the gloom of a pool dotted with water lilies...The offering was a hard sacrifice perhaps made to confront uncertainties in a period of major environmental and social change."
