this space, the urine passes in the direc-tion in which it meets the least resistance,—namelj, into the scrotum,—and thenceit passes over the body of the pubis, between the spine of the pubis and thesymphysis pubis, into the abdominal wall by way of the scroto-abdominal passage.It is unable to gain access to the ischio-rectal fossae on account of the attachmentof the deep laj-er of the superficial jierineal fascia to the base of the triangularligament; neither can it find its way externally upon the inner sides of thethighs on account of the attachment of the deep layer of the superficial fasciato the descending rami of the pubes and rami of the ischia; it can not enterthe pelvis, as the anterior layer of the triangular ligament is stretched acrossthe urethral triangle as a firm, resisting diaphragm.
