Summary[edit]
DescriptionSutton Hoo - Ship Burial Mound - geograph.org.uk - 1210413.jpg |
English: Sutton Hoo - Ship Burial Mound The two small wooden posts mark the location of what several eminent British historians believe to be the most important archaeological find in this country. They show the east to west position of the Anglo-Saxon ship burial in Mound 1 at the Sutton Hoo burial site that was excavated in the summer of 1939. The debate continues about the identity of the important man buried in the ship with his goods and chattels. |
