Fig. 127.—Large superficial lesions may develop about the anus, and are at times called giant condylomata. exfoliating dermatitis. As a general rule, however, the eruptionis very similar to that already described in the chapter upon earlycutaneous manifestations. Lenticular papules are uncommon but at times do occur. In 420 SYPHILIS the negro typical annular lesions may appear upon either the faceor body. Superficial pustules are extremely rare, but it is not unusualto find a few scattered ectliymoid pustules. Again these resem-ble those found in acquired syphilis. Vesicular lesions are rare, although they may occur in con-nection with bullous lesions. Grindon-° has recently describedtwo cases. According to him Rollet-^ was one of the first to de-scribe this condition, and Crocker,-- Adamson,-^ Taylor^* andothers have described cases.
