Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Tatenhill Common, near Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. Tatenhill Common is a hamlet strung out along the road that runs across the ridge of high ground between Tatenhill and Rangemore. It is a collection of cottages (many of which have been renovated and extended) and a couple of small-holdings, one of which can be seen on the corner of the quaintly named Cuckoo Cage Lane. The public telephone that is marked on the map opposite this junction (just beyond the telegraph pole), was removed in late 2005 by BT following its reduction in use due to mobile phones, repeated vandalism and theft of money. It was a traditional red telephone box and had it still been there, would have further enhanced this quite nice image.
