English: Temple Church The Temple Church was founded by Robert of Gloucester (son of Henry I) around 1147 when he granted the land to the Knights Templar, a religious order. The tower dates from 1460 and has leaned since the time of its construction, it is now 1.64m out of vertical on its western face.
