Shiva Nataraja sur la paroi droite à l'entrée de la grotte la plus ancienne (fin VIème siècle) du site de Badami Shiva Nataraja est la représentation du dieu effectuant la danse cosmique. Sur ce bas-relief, on dénombre 81 postures de la danse de Shiva. Badami fut la capitale de l'empire des Chalukya de 540 à 757, une période importante dans l'histoire de l'art indien. A l'époque Chalukya, les sculpteurs et artisans ont créé les temples troglodytiques, que l'on peut aujourd'hui visiter, et qui ont donné naissance aux temples dravidiens construits en pierre. fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badami |
