| Description |
English: The Abbey Church, Bangor
The church is approximately on the site of the abbey founded by St Comgall in 558. A university was established in the 9th century but was the subject of frequent attacks by Vikings. The present church dates from the 13th century although the tower is 15th century and the spire was built in 1693. The church was renovated in 1917. |
