The 40 or more church buildings of Colum-bus include those of the following religiousdenominations: Methodist Episcopal, UnitedPresbyterian, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist,Disciples, Friends, Christian Scientist, Evan-gelical Jewish, Independent German Protestant,German Evangelical Protestant, African Metho-dist Episcopal, Seventh Day Adventists, andUnited Brethren. These churches have a totalactive church mi mbership of 75,000. The news-papers and periodicals include four English andtwo German dailies, 21 secular weeklies, and 33trade, professional, religious, fraternal, and otherpublications. There arc 38 large public school COLUMBUS, OHIO.
