Henry Southall henry southall 131 Henry Southall .. .. 89 27 1 1916 Ross. A Minister and Elder. By the passing of Henry Southall, of Ross, the Society of Friends loses one who had longbeen a pillar in the Society organisation of thewest. In the Yearly Meeting and in the Meetingfor Sufferings he had for many years been afamiliar figure. Born in Leominster in 1826, he was theyounger son of John and Hannah (Burlingham)Southall ; and he was survived by only a fewweeks by his elder brother, John Tertius Southall,a short account of whose life follows this memoir. He belonged to a family remarkable for its lon-gevity, for his sisters both passed away in recentyears, aged respectively 88 and 82, whilst hiselder brother died at the age of 94. After leaving school, Henry Southall followedhis father in the drapery business, and for someyears served as an assistant with a Dewsburyfirm. About the age of 25, he returned toHerefordshire, and established a business inRoss, which town remained his home
