who are left of the family of Ahab, that I may punish themfor killing my prophets, and for the death of all my servants whom the wickedJezebel has slain. For the whole family of Ahab shall be destroyed, as thefamily of Jeroboam was destroyed, till not one of them is left. And the dogsshall eat Jezebel in the city of Jezreel, and there shall be no one to bury her. When the young man had spoken these words to Jehu, he opened the doorof the house and fled as Elisha had told him to do. And Jehu came out again to the captains of the army, and one of themasked him, saying, What did this mad fellow say to thee? He answered, Hetold me that the Lord anointed me to be king over Israel. Then the caxDtainsall made haste and blew with trumpets, and cried out, Jehu is king! So theymade Jehu king instead of Jehoram. And Jehu said to the captains, Let no one go to Jezreel to tell king Jehoram of what we have done, for^I myself will go there. Then Jehu made ready his chariot, and rode to Jezreel. 160
