CHURCH OF ST. JOSEPH. 451 REV. THOMAS FAREELL, PASTOR OF THE CHUKCU OF ST. JOSEPH. THE Rev. Thomas Fairell, who has for more thantwenty years been the spiritual guide and fathert)f the flock gathered under the invocation of the Patronof the Universal Church, is a native of Ireland. He was born in the County Longford in 1823, andcame to this country in childhood. After studying therudiments in local schools, he entered the College ofMount St. Marys, at Emmettsburg, and was graduated inthat institution. At the close of his theological covu-se inthe seminary connected with the college, he was ordainedpriest some time in the year 1847. The next year, having joined the Diocese of NewYork, he was appointed chaplain to the mother house ofthe Sisters of Charity at Momit St. Vincent, and minis-tered in the beautiful chapel still standing within thelimits of the Central Park. He was soon after associatedwith the Rev. Richard Kein as one of the assistantpriests at St. Bridgets Church. At the clo
