The Child Resistant Packaging (Safety) (Amendment) Regulations 1993
Description
English: These Regulations amend the Child Resistant Packaging (Safety) Regulations 1986(S.I. 1986-758) (the 1986 Regulations) as amended by the Child Resistant Packaging (Safety) (Amendment) Regulations 1990 (S.I. 1990-1736) to update the reference to the standard with which packaging must conform. The standard with which the packaging of those products referred to in the Schedule to the 1986 Regulations as regulated products must conform is now the British Standard Specification for packagings resistant to opening by children BSEN28317 published by the British Standards Institution (BSI) on 15th February 1993 (regulation 2(a)(iii)). For the purposes of conforming to the standard it will be sufficient for packaging to conform to BS6652-1989 if it has been approved as so complying by the BSI on or before 31st May 1993 (regulation 2(b)).
