English: The Derby Canal at Swarkestone, Derbyshire. This is the junction of the Derby canal with the Trent and Mersey Canal west of Swarkestone Lock. The white house used to be the toll house. The canal was opened to Sandiacre (fourteen miles) in 1796 closed in 1964, and this short section is now used for moorings by the Swarkestone Boat Club. |
