Summary[edit]
DescriptionThe Dorset Martyrs - detail (2) - geograph.org.uk - 1366891.jpg |
English: The Dorset Martyrs - detail (2) Sculpted by Dame Elisabeth Frink who studied at the Guildford and Chelsea Schools of Art under Willi Soukoup and Bernard Meadows who was Henry Moore`s first assistant.
Well-known for her simple male forms, horses and other animals and religious motives, Dame Elisabeth liked to place her sculptures whenever possible outdoors in the natural environment. The group here rest on the corner of the leafy South Walks with Icen Way, the site of former public hangings. |
