f Worksop, amongstamateurs, and those of Messrs. Paul & Son, andMessrs. Townsend, amongst nurserymen. InMr. Machins oollection there was a largenumber of the dwarf Polyantha section, whileLIdeale, Red Damask, and Camden were wellshown. Messrs. Paul & Son depended morelargely on the new exhibition Teas, among whichMadame C. Guinoisseau, W. Allen Riohardson,Alister, Stella Gray (somewhat in the style of thislatter flower), added considerably to the beautyof the stand. In the display of Roses, Mr. H. V.Machin was again first, and his collection was avery fine one, but there is still a good deal to bedone in this class. It will thus be seen that the projectors of theDerby Show have reason to be satisfied with theresult of their appeal to the Rose-growingpublic; and, although one may assent to theopinion of our ohampion amateur, that this hasbeen a most disappointing season, we may atthe same time add, that it was a far better onethan the mournful complaints of growers afterthe hard winter, and again after the lengtheneddrought, had led us to anticipate—some even ofthose who drew these piotures coming out as ifnothiDg extraord
