Summary[edit]
DescriptionThe Hawthorns railway halt (site), West Midlands (geograph 5662107).jpg |
English: The Hawthorns railway halt (site), West Midlands Opened in 1931 by the Great Western Railway on the lines from Birmingham Snow Hill to both Wolverhampton and Stourbridge, this four platform station closed in 1968 and was demolished. A new station was opened in 1995 immediately behind the camera position, which also gained a tram stop when the Midland Metro opened in 1999. View west towards Stourbridge (left) and Wolverhampton (straight on). Three of the 1931 Halt's platforms were in the middle distance but unusually the platform for the line on the far left (towards Stourbridge) was behind the camera position. |
