| Description |
English: The Kaleyards Gate This ancient gateway through the city walls was created in 1275 to allow the monks easier access to their gardens in the Kaleyards outside the walls. The gate was closed every night at 9pm for over seven hundred years until the practice was discontinued recently. Seen through the gateway the footpath leads towards Frodsham Street. |
