| Description |
English: The Lamb, Newport Located at 6 Bridge Street, viewed from Cambrian Road. The Lamb is a rarity these days in having occupied the same site with the same name for well over a century. Its neighbouring premises are today occupied by a bank on the left and estate agents on the right. In Kelly's 1901 Directory of Monmouthshire, its
neighbours were listed as 'fruiterers' and 'fried fish dealers' - I suspect the modern-day term is 'fish and chip shop'. |
