Van made the all-conference team three consecutive times,being chosen by unanimous choice thelast two years. The first year he receivedhonorable mention. Van also played his last game for Adrian and along withRay will be greatly missed next year. The third A T O to gain a place onthis team was Paul Shaffer. Paul playedbeside Van on the left side of the lineand was by far the best end of the leaguethis year. He was a sure hard tackier,reliable blocker and could be dependedupon for 60 minutes of hard work. Hehas improved in every game and nextyear we expect still greater things fromhim. George Gray received a place on thesecond team due to his consistent kickingand passing. Time after time Georgekicked us out of danger and his passesput us in scoring position. Georgeplayed his last game for Adrian thisyear receiving two letters for football. Honorable mention goes to BrothersHewes and Fink and Pledge Buehrer.Buehrer played his first season forAdrian and has three more years.—DonKuney.
