Description
English: The Prince Leopold public house/inn, Upton Lovell, named after w:Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany (1853-1884) the eighth child and youngest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. In 1881 he was created Duke of Ablany and Earl of Clarence. From 1876 to 1882 he was the tenant of nearby Boyton Manor, in the parish of Boyton. When he married he moved his establishment to Claremont, a house in Surrey, but he is commemorated locally in the name of the Prince Leopold Inn in the village of Upton Lovell.
