Description
English: The Schuldam Almshouse. The plaque set into the wall informs that the Schuldam Almshouse was built in 1776 and restored in 1890. The Schuldams - the spelling on ledger slabs in the nearby church of All Saints > 850526 is Schuldham > 850539 - were a local family. Kettlestone & Pensthorpe Parish has about 160 residents on the electoral roll, with the majority of parishioners living in Kettlestone village; one of the smaller villages in the district, it covers an area of 480 hectares. The main thoroughfare through the village is The Street; it is lined by 18th and 19th century brick houses and cottages.
