The interior finish is cherry, with birch ceilings; the seats are upholstered in seat cane, and The car shown in the accompanying illustrations is one ofeight recently delivered to the Oklahoma City Railway Com-pany by the American Car Company, and is particularly inter-esting on account of the long Detroit platform at the rearend. This platform is 7 ft. from end panels over crown piece.Seldom, if ever, has a platform of this length been put on a carof 20-ft. body. A 20-FT. CAR BODY HAVING CLOSED VESTIBULE ANDDETROIT PLATFORM the large standing space and the railing to prevent obstructionof the passage from door to step, are well known and need notbe further described. The cars at Oklahoma City run in onedirection, and therefore the entrances are on one side. Thecars are admirably adapted to the service of this busy center.The traffic is large and growing rapidly, the population havingdoubled in four years. Several of the cars arc mounted on theBrill 21-E trucks, which carry the bodies unusually low, sothat the platform steps are but 1554 ins. from the rail hoods,and from step to platform, 12 ins. This, together with the free-dom of moving in and out of the car by reason of the use oflongitudinal seats, facilitates the movement of passengers andreduces the time consumed by stops at street corners.
