Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Three Tuns, Coppergate One of York's old pubs, this one dating from the 17th century or earlier. The signboard outside gives some information about the pub. A cache of gold coins was found within an old beam by workmen, with the newest of the coins dating back to Charles I, whilst a 'tun' was a beer barrel which held 216 gallons of beer - enough for a good night out by anyone's standards.
