It reducesplowed ground deeper than the com-mon harrow. The toothed harrowmay be able to make the surface fine,but the disc harrow will make thesoil fine and mellow as deep as theplow worked, if enough weight isplaced upon It while working. It cutsevery large clod into pieces, whetherat the surface or below the surface. The disc harrow cuts and grinds inits working. With sufficient power todraw it and weight to hold it down,the disc tool will mellow up and makefine the rough-plowed field very muchbetter than any other tool that canbe used. If you disc your plowedland well when it is not wet, but in agood, workable condition, you aresure of the soil being placed in thefinest of shape for seed to germinateand young plants to grow.
