2 (242) THE UTAH FARMER SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 19 ©IjankBgttmtg 1915 With half of the world in bloody strife and the other half in peace, we greetThanksgiving Day. As we comtemplate the awful havoc wrought among our brothers, we shudder. Aswe view the bounteousness of our fair West, our hearts go out in gratitude. But oursis not a self-righteous, self-congratulating Thanksgiving—it is but the expression of agrateful heart. Our fields have teemed with mellow grain and sugar beets. Old mother Nature, herself, has given us propitious weather for the harvest, and the market has beenliberal with its price. Our children are well clothed and shod and fed. The power of health is theirs.Their schools are the nations best. One room buildings are almost now a memory. Our standard of living has been raised—both urban and rural. Men and womenhave come to participate actively in community affairs and to appreciate theirfranchise. Were thankful for our public press. NO MEDIUM OF EXPRESSION HASBE
