Description
English: The White House, Warwick Road, Carlisle, Cumbria, closed and boarded up in 2007. Formerly the Crescent Inn, designed by Harry Redfern for the Carlisle and District State Management Scheme and built in 1932. The State Management Scheme took pubs and breweries under Government control in the First World War to curb excessive drinking by munitions workers, and continued until 1971.
