This will tend once moreto dry up the sources of wealth, keep peoplein debt, and prevent much relaxation inthe credit-strain for the time being.And then we have the war-taxes: $6,000,-000,000 this year and $4,000,000,000 in1920. The 1919 tax bill is 50 per cent,above that of 1918, while the 1920 taxbill, as proposed, will be considerablyheavier than the 1918 le^y.
