| Description |
English: The outlet (and inlet ) of the Dinorwig HEP Scheme The embayment was created during the construction of the Dinorwig Power Station in the 1980s. This has resulted from raising the level of the lake which inundated the old Muriau and Hafod Owen 'sincs'. During the day water from Llyn Marchlyn Mawr is used to power the station's six generators, the water then being discharged into Llyn Peris. At night, surplus energy is used to pump water back to Marchlyn. |
