His latest acquisition of the Ben-ton Bellefountaine road, and the consolidation with theUnion Depot and the Mound City Lines, will make himone of the largest street railway owners in the west. Leo Daft, whose name is such a familiar one in elec-tric railway circles, favored the Review with a mostdelightful call during his recent brief visit to Chicago.With a view to benefiting his familys health, Mr. Dafta few months ago took up a temporary residence on PugetSound, and has already become largely interested in anew street railway and light plant at Everett, Wash., andin numerous valuable mining enterprises, which bid fairto make him one of the bonanza kings. An inquiry made by Major General Hutchinson intothe condition of the Highgate, England, Cable Tramwayresulted in an order to shut down the works until repairscould be made.

Mr. Collins is well known tothe electrical fraternity of the west, and the Reviewwishes him success. L. M. Hart, New York, business manager of the new-consolidated publications, under the new name of Heatingand Ventilation, called upon us a few days ago. He ismeeting with good success, and under his managementthe paper is sure to prosper. H. Forman Collins, who, as western editor andmanager of the Electrical Engineer, has made so manyfriends and so marked a success, has resigned to acceptthe position of business manager of the Western Elec-trician. We sincerely wish for Mr. Collins in his newrelation all the success the increased scope offers. THE McMahon ammonia
