The wings are laid out upon a regular curve extend-ing through ninety degrees, and are divided in themiddle by a longitudinal partition, one side forming apassageway and the other half being devoted to birdcages, etc. The main building, 264 feet in length, isvariously subdivided. A large swell upon the rear i^ tobe the aquarium, with grottoes in front, and is flanked uponeither side with toilet rooms, directors room and feedroom for the larger animals. The latter will includeelephants, camels, giraffes, cape buffalo and llamas andwill be located to the right as one approaches the frontof the building. The corresponding space at the leftwill be devoted to reptiles, and has three large tanks forthe use of alligators and other amphibia. At each endof the main building are entrances with commodiousporches and vestibules leading to the wings. The imme-diate front of the main building, covering a space of 175feet in length, is the summer and winter quarters of thecarnivora.

Kessler,superintendent, writes us that the company under a con-cession from the city has erected a theatre capable ofseating 2,500 people for opera and all kinds of suitablestage performances.
