Asshown in the illustrationthe water is fed into thereservoir formed by theextension of the centraltube up into the steamdrum. From this cham-ber the water descendsto the bottom of theboiler through an out-side tube as shown.The upper reservoiracts as a live steam puri-fier so a great deal ofthe solid matter in solu-tion is dropped beforeit reaches the boilerproper. If the water isvery bad a trap can beput on the pipe connect-ing top and bottom ofboiler to give sedimentan e.xtra chance to set-tle. It is an easy mat-ter to clean out the bottom of the dome. Each boiler isa complete unit by itself with the stack castings and fit-tings. The guarantees made by the maker places itsevaporative duty equal to any water tube boiler made.It has been extensively used in iron works through Ohioand Pennsylvania. C. P. Adams, 807 the Cuyahoga.Cleveland, is the maker.
