The F street line will call for13 miles more of single track, making 21 miles in all. The leakage so far has been too small to show on theammeter and too small to cause any spark when theswitches are thrown at the power house. The first tendays that the road was in operation the machinery wasrun 12 hours per day. Since then it has run to the fulllimit of 20 hours per day. During this time cars havebeen added gradually till at present writing there are tenoperating at intervals between the horse cars. While ithas not been possible to run the trains over the line atfull speed (9 miles per hour by police regulation) themotor trains have been speeded over short stretches andup grades without trouble with the underground contact.
