His consultations with the Metropolitan manage-ment resulted in the announcement, about a year ago, that The minimum height of the structure above the street is14 feet, the usual height being 15 feet. Thestandard foundation is 7 feet deep and S feet square.The girders are 4 feet deep. Distance between pillarsis 39 to 50 feet. The lateral bracing is equivalent to 450pounds per lineal foot of track. At boulevard crossingsa special ornamental form of structure is employed. Therail is 90-pound T, furnished by the Illinois Steel Com-pany, with 4-bolt fish plates. VIADUCTS AND BRIDGES.
