and the valves are Crosbyspring seat. The piping was tested to a pressure of 140 lb. Thesteam, exhaust and feed water piping was covered by the II. W.Johns-Manville Co. The rolling stock comprises the following: Eight 38-ft. vestibulepassenger cars built by the American Car & Foundry Co. and left without flooring so that men can work un the liiwcr side of thecars to better advantage. The building and piping plan for the extension to the powerhouse were prepared by Richard P. Jenks, engineer, of Providence.The designs for the car house were made by James Shaw, jr., archi-tect. .\t a meeting of the company held Jan. 15, 1903, the following offi-cers were elected: President, James H. Morris, of the bankinghouse of Morris Brothers & Christensen, Philadelphia; vice-presi-dent and general manager, D. F. Sherman; treasurer, George W.Prentice; secretary, Franklin A. Smith, jr. The companyowns ten 34-ft. flat cars which are run as trailers anil are used inthe freight service; also one heavy electric locomotive for haulingthe freight cars. In addition there arc two 38-ft. express cars builtby the Laconia Car Co.; six open trail cars for passenger serviceand one Taunton snow plow. Ten new cars arc soon to be addedto the equipment, and among them will he one especially designedfor carrying milk with a capacity of 1,000 cans.
