This type of car has been desioffer the same comforts and luxuries as are now to be had on 194 STREET RAILWAY REVIEW (Vol. XVI, No. 4. the limited trains of the steam railway trunk lines. The newcars, of which there are nine, are 62 ft. long over all, and werebuilt by the Cincinnati Car Co. The interior finish is very similarto the Pullman style. The interior of the car is divided into a general passenger com-partment to the rear of which is an observation platform nine feet iij As the car is operated single ended the only entrance for chairs are upholstered in dark leather. The forward compart-ment of the car is designed to carry baggage and has two slidingside doors. A permanent stool is provided for the motorman andhe is protected from the baggage by a substantial framework ofpipe. In this compartment are placed the hot water heater, aBabcock extinguisher, emergency tools and the telephone instru-ment as used on the lines over which these cars will operate.

This platform is enclosedby heavy plate glass which is curved to the oval shape of therear end of the car framing. The floor of the observation plat-form is covered with interlocking rubber tile and camp chairsare provided so that the passengers may enjoy an unobstructedview. Corner settees upholstered in leather have been furnishedfor this end of the car. The large passenger compartment is provided with high-back The woodwork of the interior of the new cars is especially fine,as may be seen from the accompanying interior views. The carsare lighted by clusters of lamps enclosed in inverted holophanebowls. A toilet room is provided in the rear of the main passen-ger compartment with a drinking water tank recessed in its par-tition wall. The cars are equipped with Westinghouse No. 85 andNo. 121 motors mou
