Description
English: There's a hole in my railway, dear (Clachna) Harry There appears to be nothing to stop a train falling off the end of the line at Clachnaharry when the bridge over the canal is open for shipping except for a red signal several hundred yards back on the Inverness side (and presumably a similar one from the Dingwall direction). The box on the side of the swing bridge contains the operating equipment and gearing above the bridge pivot point but it is controlled from the signal box, the roof of which can be seen peeping over the bridge parapet. Note the slot for the locking bolt between the rails at the edge of the gap.
