| Description |
English: This is not Northamptonshire Those who attend the Great Dorset Steam Fair will know all about Watford Gap. It provides a great spectacle for Traction engine and heavy haulage fans alike. Watford Gap is the hill which heavy loads on old Pickford's trailers and similar are hauled up by multiple engines or multiple trucks. Scammell fans love it. Belching smoke, diesel fumes, spinning tyre's.
The reason for the sign is to prevent unauthorised attempts on the hill. There is also a very high degree of stewarding and crowd control so that the spectacle can be enjoyed safely. |
