Summary[edit]
DescriptionThornbury railway station (site), Gloucestershire (geograph 7015930).jpg |
English: Thornbury railway station (site), Gloucestershire Opened in 1872 by the Midland Railway as the terminus of its branch line from Yate, this station closed to passengers in 1944 and completely in 1966, and was later demolished. The whole area has since been comprehensively redeveloped. View north west along the railway track, roughly along the course of the road, towards the buffers. The single platform was to the right of the track and the station building was near where the second house now is. Out of sight to the left was a goods shed and small goods yard, now partly retail units. The road is called Midland Way. |
