Description Native, warm season, perennial, herb 20-80 cm tall. Roots are tuberous; tubers are cylindrical to ellipsoid and 1–3 cm long. Leaves are annual, linear, ± terete towards apex and 20–60 cm long. Flowerheads are much-branched and paniculate, with flowers in 1–8-flowered umbels. Tepals are 7–19 mm long and purple; outer tepals are 1.5–2.5 mm wide; inner tepals 5–12 mm wide and fimbriate. Flowering is from September to Apri. Widespread. Grows in dry sclerophyll forest, woodland and heath on a variety of soils.
