The massesmoving along the lines 1 and 2 were so checked bythis fire that they did not press home their charges.That moving along line 3 swerved under it to the right,and although taken in flank at the positions indicatedbetween the sectional (red) lines B and D, still continuedits advance, reaching the left face of the square, ac-cording to Captain Verners lines on the plan, at ornear the company of the Lancer
