Description
English: Train approaching Falconwood Station, Eltham This train in the colours of South Eastern Trains is bound for Dartford on the Bexleyheath line from London. (Cannon Street, Victoria and Charing Cross termini are served by this line). Falconwood Station opened after the rest of the Bexleyheath line on January 1, 1936. Notice the upward gradient for the next few hundred metres before the line drops to the new single combined and reconstructed Eltham station. It is noticeable that electrical power is still picked up from power lines on the ground (the centre two in the image) in this quarter of the London commuter belt, rather than from above.
