Summary
[edit]DescriptionTrain at Connolly Station - (10) (geograph 3247786).jpg |
English: Train at Connolly Station - (10) As the City of Dublin Junction lines gave access to the former Dublin & South Eastern Railway system to Wexford, Connolly station saw some freight activity which, in the CIÉ/IÉ era, consisted mostly of cement, fertiliser and anhydrous ammonia. Heading past Platform 6, IÉ 001 class No. 055 hauls a southbound anhydrous ammonia train from Marino Point (on the Cork – Cobh line) to Shelton Abbey north of Arklow. This traffic ceased in October 2002. |
