ade while looking at the object with the right eye, exhibitedthe same characteristic metamorphosia and micropsia. Theophthalmoscope showed that the macular region was surroundedby a most curiously irregular and shining rim, the enclosed areabeing markedly depressed in places and quite pallid, especiallythe fovea itself. On the 18th of June the left scotoma, as shown in Figure C,appeared to be divided into four dull areas, which are in con-stant motion. The six vibrating, brilliantly-lighted spots havedisappeared. Al-though there were some evidences of iodism, I continued thedrug just as before. On the following day (226. of June) the spot appeared as ifsplit into two sections, and the bright area had gone. (No.20.) The patients notes state : I cannot draw the shape ofthe spots unless I close the eye rapidly. They are in constantmotion, like the one shown in drawing No. 3. The vertical lines had undergone a marked change. Theywere not so broken, and the heavy, dense, horizontal thicken-ings were replaced by six broad, faint, horizontal smudges.
